WELCOME FROM OUR HEADTEACHER
MRS C McGREGOR
On behalf of the staff and governors of our school, I offer you a very warm welcome.
St Cuthbert's Primary School is a family. We pride ourselves on our welcoming ethos and our school mission 'In God's family we love, we grow, we learn' which runs through every aspect of school life. We are very proud that visitors often remark on the happy, family atmosphere that exists here. St Cuthbert's is fortunate to have an extremely dedicated team of staff who help each and every child achieve their full potential.
We have four classes; Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception); Key Stage One (Year 1 and Year 2); Lower Key Stage 2 (Year 3 and 4) and from September 2025 Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5 and Year 6). We find there are many advantages to having mixed age classes including the flexibility this allows us to educate each child at their own level of maturity and achievement.
As a Catholic school we believe in the experience of our community being centered on the person and teaching of Jesus as we strive to allow everyone in our school community to find true meaning and value in their life. We believe that everyone is made in the image and likeness of God showing respect for each other as unique individuals. Our children are nurtured within a warm, loving environment to allow their potential to flourish. They are helped to develop an awareness of their rights and responsibilities and consequences for their actions, so that they grow into accepting and unprejudiced individuals who show empathy towards all they meet.
We place great importance on the relationships between home, school and church and strive to build strong links between all three, working in partnership together. I hope you will find our website helpful in giving you an overview of our school and providing you with practical information which you may find useful. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further information or if you would like to arrange a visit.

Our Vision
We believe that the community of St Cuthbert's, at all times and in all that it does, should strive to serve as witness to the Catholic Faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that parents are the first and foremost educators of their children and that we are called to support them in their God -given task.
We believe that the school has a duty to ensure that each child is valued and encouraged to achieve human wholeness - spiritually, morally, emotionally, intellectually in a happy, secure and strongly Christian environment.
We believe that the school has a duty to provide the best possible education for each and every child so they achieve their full potential.
