Religious Education

Religious Education is the core subject taught in St Cuthbert's and 10% of all curriculum time is given over to the teaching of this subject in every class.

We follow the new Religious Education Directory (RED) titled "To Know You More Clearly", which is a scripture-led  approach rooted in biblical texts and Church teachings to help children encounter God's self revelation in Jesus Christ. 

The learning is structured around six core branches across the academic year (one each half-term): 

1. Creation and Covenant  

2. Prophecy and Promise  

3. Galilee to Jerusalem  

4. Desert to Garden  

5. To the Ends of the Earth  

6. Dialogue and Encounter     

Each branch explores four specific knowledge lenses—understanding theological roots, discerning  how to respond, exploring moral living, and reflecting through prayer and liturgy.
