Class 3 have taken part in Berwick Shines lantern project with artist Martha Ellis. The Engagement Producer organised this for "The Living Barracks" project created by and paid for by The Maltings Trust.

Martha came in to school over 2 full days to create group lanterns in the shape of a fish. Half of the class spent a day creating the fish structure with willow by bending and cutting it into shape and fixing it together with masking tape. Tthe second day was spent using special art tissue and PVA glue mix to add the shape to the fish, The second half of the children worked in groups of 3 or 4 to allow for teamwork and cooperation.

The lanterns will be on display around the town and at the "Big sing"

This is a community project and many of the other local schools have been involved.
